Former President William Howard Taft to open ‘Islamic Lecture Hall’ in Miami
President William J. Howard Tafts funeral will be held Friday night at the University of Miami.
The funeral will include the burial of Tafts wife, Elsie Tafts.
Tafts son, Richard Tafts, will also attend.
The University of Florida, which is the university where Tafts is buried, has been using the Tafts Memorial Auditorium for the past three years.
The Tafts Center for Religious Studies is expected to be open during Tafts’ funeral.
The center is an academic research center that offers courses and classes on religious topics and theology.
Taft had an estimated net worth of $2.8 billion.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1922.
Tafters father, William J., died in 1924 at the age of 63.
He married in 1940.
